SAT-finally!!!!
no i dont meant the exam SAT. i mean San Antonio Texas (SAT being its airport code). i moved in last weekend, and bought a new car the first day i set foot in the city. it was kinda overdue.
so far, the city seems nice - mercury climbs a little higher though, but having spent my youth in delhi, this doesnt seem much of a big deal. in fact so far i havent turned on the ac during daytime.
the apt is nice, and first time in my life i have a entire house to myself :-) so the last week's evening were devoted to the shopping trips in all sort of stores - walmart, target, office depot, staples, HEB, india bazaar etc - i kinda got used to lugging the stuff out of my car at nights. and yet, its not over, some of the stuff i have postponed to the coming months.
the bose QC3 headphones were a dud, not really coz they didnt work - but more coz of the side effects. see, to reduce noise, these headphones emit some sort of frequency continuously into your ears. my ears, maybe coz they are of the sensitive type, started aching really bad, besides giving me terrible headaches. at the end of both the 4 hour flights, my headaches almost killed me. i returned them 3 days back. next time, i would simple try the garden variety headphones, or more down to earth earplugs. bose should put this disclaimer on the pack that it might cause this in some people.
and i did buy a dartboard at last - believe me there is nothing more simpler and enjoyable than throwing darts and hitting bull's eye (though it happens a lot less than i wish for :-p)
my plan for the coming months is to get ELO rating. this is what i always thought i would go for whenever i had time. and now it seems that i would be able to squeeze in some time. this is one of the items long due on my checklist (yes the french one would have to wait some more, maybe i would go for spanish now). overall life seems to going at the right pace. though its not a big deal, i always wanted to buy a decent house and a good car before i turn thirty. and now i have bought both, so its kinda satisfying. actually, except a couple of things, life had turned exactly as i had thought of.
