A few good men

"It doesn't matter who you are on the inside. It's what you DO that defines you." - The more I think about it, the more I realize that must be the yardstick. So many good people, all of them guilty of doing nothing when they should have stood up and be counted. The only time I had a warm feeling about this was when my btech class stood up, acted as one and spoke as one. and we saw how being brave changes things for the good. the strike which many thought impossible, happened and happened for good. So, my good friend, you are probably braver than you think, but still doing worse than you could. stand up and be counted, stand up and be heard, stand up and show the world what a few good men could do. you can change the world, you can make the world a better place, you can be the man they would tell stories about. don't tell your inaction push another human being into the vicious cycle of misery, poverty, injustice and helplessness - do your part, if you have the power and means to do so - that is not a choice- that is your responsibility.

The great nation

‎"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." - by that standard, we are nowhere close to greatness; we never miss an opportunity to look down on people, based on wealth, class, caste or even education. Wherever I see, we are infested with the feeling of superiority - the more educated you are the more severe the problem is, from IITs to IIMs. That what the professors teach you, thats what the recruiters tell you, thats what your peers believe, thats what your parents generation passed on as heritage. I had the misfortune of knowing more and more such people as I moved into BTech, MDI and IIM. Am I being judgemental? probably I am, but truth be told, some of them were absolute pests, leeches, sucking whatever resources they can- when the genuine needy ones suffer for the basic necessities.
